This evening the sunny days have their usual ending: huge clouds with thunder, lightning and heavy rain. But today the rain was so soft and warm that it was a real pleasure to enjoy it. And the air was like a soft kiss in the dawn. Daily Painting about changing weather 6 Juni 2010, 7:49 Luftbad beim Wetterleuchten, Aquarell, 16 x 17 cm
Today I’m invited in the neighbourhood to the administrator of the woods I use to walk in. It’s fascinating, usually he speaks about all the places I know, and he tells me all the secrets about them. And tomorrow I’m too scared to go there again. Daily Painting about the wood 5 Juni 2010, 3:52 Hide and seek den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht, Aquarell auf Leinwand-Bütten, 18 x 24 cm
Today is Corpus Christi and in the church next door was a huge procession with hundreds of people, marching band, several priests and billows of incense. But as a real Eifel procession it was totally anarchic and everybody went where he liked and prayed what he liked and sang what he liked. Or he chatted. Daily Painting about processions 3 Juni 2010, 2:47 Prozession, Aquarell, 19 x 17 cm
This was accident day. I fell down the stairs, burnt myself at the oven, dropped pots on my foot, threw flowers out of the window, spilled pink paint on the Pinscher and took a tomato sauce shower. I hope I won’t crash Twitter! Daily Painting about chaos 2 Juni 2010, 7:58 Das Chaos ist weiblich, Aquarell, 26 x 16,5 cm
Boy, I was so tired yesterday, but it was such an inspiring experience to work with the disabled children, I dreamed a whole symphony of absurd variety: I baked pizza with the sexton or had some difficult adventure being different animals. Daily Painting about dreams 28 Mai 2010, 8:00 In meinem Traum war ich die Maus und du die Katze, Aquarell auf Karton, 17 x 12,5 cm
Everyday when I start a new watercolour it’s like a new adventure. Each weather has its own rules, each paper needs other techniques. It’s like climbing on a horse you don’t know – at least I guess it’s like it because I can’t ride. Daily Painting about the unknown 19 Mai 2010, 7:56 Malerin und der tägliche Schritt ins Ungewisse, Aquarell, 32 x 24 cm
What a day: first a Schirmer Workshop in the academy, high up on the tower watercolouring in the sun and then I come back to hear that I sold a picture on the Bristol Affordable Art Fair. Because it’s a painting with cats I celebrate it with a Daily Painting about cats not getting grey at night 16 Mai 2010, 7:44 Manche werden nachts nicht grau, Aquarell, 25 x 17 cm
Did I miss something? Already November? But why are the leaves still green? Oh, it’s so awful cold since a week I really start to worry about the harvest we can expect. But I hope, when we are asleep, at night, on the quiet, there comes a little bit of spring. Daily Painting about night spring 14 Mai 2010, 7:51 Nachts, wenn der Frühling kommt, Aquarell, 17 x 12 cm
The terrible oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico gets worse everyday. I love the idea of collecting hairs from men and animals to stop the pollution. Perhaps someone pays bounties for pigtails – hunting scenes in the barbershop. Daily Painting about hair bounty hunter 12 Mai 2010, 7:44 Zopfgeldjäger, Aquarell, 17 x 16 cm
Today I had nothing to roll my macaronis and so I used the stick of a small brush. It worked, but after a while I had coloured pasta and all over my paintings were little crumbs of dough. Is there a better way to get one with your art? Daily Painting about mergence 5 Mai 2010, 7:46 Es scheint, als würd ich eins mit einem Bild, Aquarell, 31,5 x 24 cm
