Fighting Day! There is a quarrel about the little dog I take care for. She is diabetic, nearly blind, can’t stay alone and I refuse to bring her into a kennel and a dubious situation. But this is only one war zone, at all fronts is upset. You could think they have an accord. Daily Painting about agreement

Everytime I go to Cologne, I think about the way the former art city treats its artists. No wonder there is a real exodus. And they still plan to close the unique Art and Museum Library. But there is lot of resistance. Perhaps they better plan to build another subway. Daily Painting about conscience

Since centuries women visit the old matrons temple in the eifel. Now a house will be build on it to improve the touristic development. It looks a bit like a history peep show. The old trick: You have to put women into a cage if you want to earn money with them. Daily Painting about holy women

Today a journalist called: silly season, he said, do you have anything spectacular? I had, the new book about the Eifel found his interest. But isn’t it funny that the newspapers call me when they haven’t got any news? Maf, the News Insurance! Daily Painting about summer slump

The news from Pakistan are so horrible. When will the people in this region get finally peace? Assassinations, poverty, hunger, religious and political conflicts and now the flood. I silence; every comment seems almost cynical to me. Daily Painting about flood

How beautiful! In the last years nobody cared about the little park in front of my house and all my attempts to make it nice were in vain. But today came a group of people from the church vis-à-vis and they planted flowers and bushes. And now it looks wonderful! Daily Painting about green fingers

Today I found a can with white laquer. This is a sign, I called and began to paint everything that didn’t run away: bed, table, chairs, doors, windows, more tables and so on. Now the can is empty except for a little rest. Perhaps the white colour of my Pinscher needs a little brush-up? Daily Painting about makeover

Eifel Flood Disaster

The flood disaster on 14–15 July 2021 destroyed almost the entirety of Maf Räderscheidt’s life’s work when a flood wave from the Urft, approximately 3.50 high, surged through her studio on the Plan in Gemünd and swept thousands of paintings, watercolours, drawings, etchings and everything else towards Lake Urft. Consequently, almost every image posted before that date has, sadly, been destroyed and is no longer available. The few that were saved are completely ruined and contaminated by water, mud and the many unspeakable things that were washed down to Gemünd from thousands of garden sheds, cars, heating oil tanks and five sewage treatment works.
