In fact there is no special reason why I painted a llama today. Perhaps it’s because I like them. And every time I drive to my studio I see a group of them grazing on the hills. I don’t talk to them, I’m afraid they think a painter needs a spitting image. Daily Painting about llamas 23 Mai 2011, 8:11 Ohne Titel (Lama), Aquarell und Neonstift, 21 x 15 cm
This morning I was very sad. Somebody stole the palm tree that I had half of my life. I had it in front of my studio and I spent the day to paint an palm tree at the wall. And I wrote a letter to the thief: You broke my heart, I hope you are nice to my palm. Daily Painting about fruits 21 Mai 2011, 6:27 Warten, bis ich Früchte trage, Aquarell, 17 x 24 cm
Yesterday I made my 800th posting. You remember I thought about taking it a little bit more easily, but I tell you, it’s difficult to stop. I really got addicted to it. But I think I gave you so many colours that you perhaps can stand the one or the other day without new painting. Daily Painting about fools 20 Mai 2011, 8:05 Ich habe mich solange zum Narren gemacht, bis die ganze Umgebung farbig war, Aquarell und Farbstift, 25 x 25 cm
This morning I got a shock: all roofs were frost-covered and I still had all my indoor plants outside. So I hurried to get them all ready to be transported to their winter exile. So this is it? Are the warm days already gone? And it’s just 5 months since it stopped snowing. Daily Painting about frost 11 Oktober 2010, 7:49 Eisblumenernte, Aquarell mit Kreide, 15 x 10,5 cm
Today I saw people up on the hills flying their kite. It looked so wonderful and exiting, that I wanted to fly like a kite. But then I said to myself: you fool, your whole life is flying the kite of your fantasy through the wind of the art world. Daily Painting about kites 25 September 2010, 7:56 Kleine Drachenfliegerin, Aquarell, 32 x 24 cm
Clear sky and full moon – a fascinating coincidence. Usually I don’t sleep too well in these nights, but not because of the moon. The cats think my old house is not spooky enough and climb on the attic to produce a Hitchcock-like soundtrack. Daily Painting about dancers 23 September 2010, 7:37 Vollmondtänzer, Aquarell, 12 x 17 cm
There are days when the life of a painter gets difficult. For example when you see a morning sky that shines in such absurd colours that you make yourself ridiculous if you try to use them. Perhaps it gets better when I add two horses. Daily Painting about credibility 22 September 2010, 7:25 Der Himmel war rosa und die Farbe ist blau, Aquarell, 20 x 14 cm
Sometimes life seems to be an endless hill of potatoes that you have to peel. And in the evening you eat them all and have to start again in the next morning. Depressing impression, if you wouldn’t think of all the wonderful things that means: fresh gnocchi, puree, chips. Daily Painting about peeling potatoes 21 September 2010, 7:57 Die Kartoffelschälerin, Aquarell, 25 x 19,5 cm
I didn’t know until yesterday: This is european year of poverty – familiar theme for most of us artists. We are used to direct our lives with the beggar’s staff. But we get back so many presents: art, freedom and a little bit of eternity. Daily Painting about courage 20 September 2010, 8:00 Kunst und Bettelstab, Kohle auf Aquarell, 23 x 16,5 cm
It was a sunny day and the last weekend in summer. Everybody went outside and stormed the garden restaurants. But it was so idiotic cold, that the innkeepers ran around and issued woolen blankets. What a sight: september sun, summer drinks and freezing people. Daily Painting about picnic 19 September 2010, 7:56 Picknick im Grünen, Bleistift auf Aquarell, 18 x 22 cm
