Today I had an interview for a history project about the art scene in the 70s. So many words about me, about the past and about the fights we fought. Actually I love hearing myself talk, but the Daily Paintings inspired me to paint what I have to say. Finally the sun hid behind thick clouds. It rained a little bit and a wind got up. It’s still warm but the tropical heat that tortured us has left – for the moment at least. After the bright days I enjoy the dimmed light and the broken colours of the clouds. Daily Painting about clouds 12 Juli 2010, 7:47 Ich fühle Freude, wenn die Wolken welken, Aquarell und Bleistiftzeichnung, coloriert, 30 x 22 cm
Today was Summer party in a retirement home nearby. And I was asked to make portraits of the old. And as I drew their faces I fell in love with the wisdom and clarity I saw in there. When they fell asleep while sitting for me they had the beauty of a dying candle. Daily Painting about wisdom 11 Juli 2010, 7:51 Jugend und Weisheit im gleichen Licht, Aquarell, 25,5 x 16,5 cm
Some people tell me I’m gifted in arts. But in my eyes the real gift is that I can paint, draw or engrave whenever I want to. Each morning I greet my colours and my brushes and I am thankful that I can enjoy the world to the full colours. I can paint again. That’s nice. Not so nice is that it is so hot you better stay in a cool room and don’t move. The swifts hold adventurous races around the house sqealing enthusiasticly. Seems they have lots of fun. Because of the heat they don’t need to sit on the eggs and can keep racing. Daily Painting about hot tyres 9 Juli 2010, 7:42 Ich brüte hier, und Du, Du schläfst, Aquarell, 32 x 24 cm
Today I was so confused for vanity about the huge print that I was totally unable to work. So I pickled mushrooms, polished the copper pans and stumbled daftly through the house. But now I think I should pull myself together and don’t lose sight of the aim. Whatever this could be, at the moment I can’t remember. Daily Painting about sight 8 Juli 2010, 7:55 Wer nicht auf den Kopf gefallen ist, sollte das Ziel vor den Augen haben, Aquarell, 19 x 16,5 cm
The rain, that fell after the heat, made the forrester happy. In the last days it was so hot, that he planned to close the wood to prevent forest fires. Imagine a young loving pair with burning hearts making hot love in the bush, that could cause a catastrophe! Daily Painting about fire 5 Juli 2010, 7:46 Entflammtes Paar verliert den Boden unter den Füßen, Aquarell und Bleistift, 24 x 20 cm
The rainstorm yesterday evening brought no cooling but left an air that was soaked with wetness. I felt like I was walking on the ground of a pressure cooker. And the whole day I was looking for my circulatory. I still remember the times when I had one, it was nice. Daily Painting about humid heat 4 Juli 2010, 7:28 Abtauchen, Bleistift auf Aquarell, 24 x 12 cm
While I watched Argentina – Germany, I remembered the same situation 4 years ago. Then I saw the match with people that turned out to be the most devious and false persons I ever met. But the good thing is, they’re only a bad memory. Daily Painting about furtiveness 3 Juli 2010, 8:13 Hinter dem Rücken der anderen, Aquarell, 21 x 16,5 cm
It’s really hot in these days.Air from the sahara flows to good old Germany and causes new indignation: Now it’s too hot, people sweat and little bushes are begging for a mere drop of water. I don’t mind as long as I don’t have to wear a burka. Daily Painting about desert 1 Juli 2010, 7:51 Aller Wüste Anfang, Aquarell, 24 x 17 cm
