On the telephone pole the swallows start gathering. They sit on the cables like a Schönberg musical score. Only a few days and they will leave. It’s always sad to see them go. It’s like they take the light with them and ring in the winter. Daily Painting about migrating birds 31 August 2010, 7:48 pm There comes a time, you want to migrate with the birds, watercolour with pencil, 14 x 23 cm
Panic! The computer is broken down! What about my work, what about the daily painting?? But when I see people in Chile sitting deep down in the earth and waiting until Christmas to see the light again, I keep cool and try my best to get the systems working. Daily Painting about darkness 30 August 2010, 8:02 pm Untitled (Head in the dark), watercolour, 15 x 10 cm
“You’re still painting?” I’m often asked. Yes, I do. My colours and brushes are old-fashioned, I know. But at least I go dressed in my canvas and no little boy points out at me, yelling: „But she isn’t wearing anything at all!” Daily Painting about paintress’s new clothes 29 August 2010, 8:02 pm Emperor’s new clothes, watercolour, 26 x 24 cm
Call me mad, you’re right! Only just a week that the puppy left and I have already the next ward: a blind, diabetic poodle with Mamma tumor that ran through Schleiden. If you meet me you better claim being healthy or I grab and rescue you. Daily Painting about saving craze 28 August 2010, 7:03 pm better save everything than nothing, watercolour with charcoal and ink, 24 x 17 cm
Isn’t it strange? From one day to the other the summer ends. Two days ago I sat in the sun and now I see the horses losing hair, the squirrels hurrying around and then – oops – the 1st chestnut falls on your head. I guess, summer waved goodbye. Daily Painting about autumn 27 August 2010, 7:57 pm The summer door opens up and outside stands – the autumn!, watercolour, 13 x 21 cm
Everytime I go to Cologne, I think about the way the former art city treats its artists. No wonder there is a real exodus. And they still plan to close the unique Art and Museum Library. But there is lot of resistance. Perhaps they better plan to build another subway. Daily Painting about conscience 26 August 2010, 7:46 pm Town without conscience, watercolour, 16,5 x 23 cm
At the moment my life is too exciting for me. I have difficulties finding my sleep. I lie in the night, blinded by the happenings of the day, eyes wide open and try not to forget something. But the good thing is: I’m too tired to freak out during the days. Daily Painting about night and day 25 August 2010, 5:50 pm Tidal yoke – first the morning, then the night or vice versa, inkpen on watercolour, 24 x 17 cm
Today the Guinness Record Management Team answered my application for the worlds largest etching. They feel unable to accept it because they „concentrate on records with the greatest interest“. Perhaps I better make the biggest dunghill or put 200 sausages in my ear, that’s really interesting, but art… Daily Painting about high horse 23 August 2010, 7:47 pm The authority on the high horse, watercolour, 19 x 13 cm
Today I travelled with my sketchbook through the landscape to look for new impressions. But then I understood that the true inspiration comes from inside my head. Maybe I see new things but if I don’t clear my head and open my mind, all stays superficial. Daily Painting about a kiss 22 August 2010, 7:53 pm Nature and kiss, watercolour, 24,5 x 17 cm
The german director Christoph Schlingensief died today. He was one of the artists who live like the bull who jumps into the audience. My respect for his courage to continue his work until the late hours of his life. Daily Painting about a beating heart 21 August 2010, 7:47 pm My heart beats for the late hour, watercolour, 10 x 15 cm
