Today a big event was right in front of our house: a duathlon! Lots of men, coloured like gummi bears running and biking up the hill for hours. I’m happy when people have hobbies. It keeps them off from doing nonsense. Daily Painting about a hobby horse

My right knee hurts like hell. But when I close my eyes I can see myself jumping over hurdles. Or fences. Or dance. Or just climb stairs. And then I stand up and do it. Not really but life uses to present enough hurdles. Daily Painting about taking a leap

A warm day with more gardening today. Tomorrow it will rain but it stays warm now. I’m sure there will be cold days coming, but now we stride the verge to spring. It’s good to feel the seasonal tides so intensively. Daily Painting about the change of times.

There are days when I can’t decide: will I use charcoal? Or ink? Watercolour? I love them in their own respect, each one of them. But then I find an old coloured pencil and I know: I’ll use them all, together they’ll form a dreamteam! Daily Painting about cooperation

Eifel Flood Disaster

The flood disaster on 14–15 July 2021 destroyed almost the entirety of Maf Räderscheidt’s life’s work when a flood wave from the Urft, approximately 3.50 high, surged through her studio on the Plan in Gemünd and swept thousands of paintings, watercolours, drawings, etchings and everything else towards Lake Urft. Consequently, almost every image posted before that date has, sadly, been destroyed and is no longer available. The few that were saved are completely ruined and contaminated by water, mud and the many unspeakable things that were washed down to Gemünd from thousands of garden sheds, cars, heating oil tanks and five sewage treatment works.
