The last eventful weeks took their toll: today I was so shy, I hid in the house and didn’t open the door. It was wonderful – so I could enjoy the animals. I nearly had forgotten why they live with me. Daily Painting about a wrecked ark

A grey day in the Eifel. The snow vanishes slowly with no visible sign of meltwater. It’s still cold and you begin to think about the times where the trees had leaves and the sun sent out warmth. Daily Painting about waiting for the colours coming back

Today it snowed again. Although it melted the last days, still everything is coated with a thin white layer. When you go through it, it is so quiet, you really can hear the snow fall on the earth. It’s like the silence was transformed in a landscape. Daily Painting on silence as a landscape

When I arrived in Bristol, the feet full of bloody blisters taken care by the evening clerk, shivering with 3 Jumpers on, I watched herds of nearly naked young girls on adventurous high heels flock to a funny Outside Harbour Party. Daily Painting about charming toughness

I saw a wonderful exhibition in Bristol from the RWA of Arts about Paper. I found it extremely inspiring as I found the artists I met very nice and friendly too. So I dedicate this Daily Painting to my fellow british artists with a reminiscence of one of the sculptures

Back from England – but you don’t need to be shocked, I’m not pregnant, I’m swollen. English hospitality from breakfast to the evening-brandy equips the tasting artist with a security cushion to survive the next weeks without isle food. Daily Painting about english hospitality

Eifel Flood Disaster

The flood disaster on 14–15 July 2021 destroyed almost the entirety of Maf Räderscheidt’s life’s work when a flood wave from the Urft, approximately 3.50 high, surged through her studio on the Plan in Gemünd and swept thousands of paintings, watercolours, drawings, etchings and everything else towards Lake Urft. Consequently, almost every image posted before that date has, sadly, been destroyed and is no longer available. The few that were saved are completely ruined and contaminated by water, mud and the many unspeakable things that were washed down to Gemünd from thousands of garden sheds, cars, heating oil tanks and five sewage treatment works.
