Christmas Day. The churches are full and the temper is bad. But not for you, my friends, you have the Daily Paintings to make you happy and to help you to find the rich water vein that waits under the surface of us all. Daily Painting about a dowser 25 December 2009, 7:37 pm Dowser, watercolour on Bristol-cardboard, 29 x 21 cm
Now deep snow mantles everything: walls, trees, castle, church, grass. Sun is shining and when the wind blows you think you stand in a snow globe. But it’s a hard time for all the wild animals. Daily Painting about birds in the winter 19 December 2009, 8:07 pm Child or victim, 14 x 13 cm
Special weather in the Eifel: everywhere is sunshine, but not here: it snows! Same as always: you have rain, we have sun or vice versa. That’s the Eifel: it’s different. Charming, beautiful, but different. Daily Painting is about icemen, oh boy, it’s really cold! 16 December 2009, 7:29 pm 3 icemen in position, watercolour, 25 x 23 cm
In these days I often think about all these animals that end in our pots and ovens – the millions of geese, chickens, salmons. But when I watch how they live and how they die I loose my appetite. Daily Painting about chickens 14 December 2009, 7:54 pm Too cute to die, watercolour, 16 x 17 cm
This is the third sunday in advent, isn’t it? So I should light three candles, but instead I post 3 tiny advent paintings for your personal internet wreath 13 December 2009, 7:52 pm I draw my life in ice, watercolour, 13 x 8 cm Let’s talk about sex, baby! Artists are polluters, I know. The best materials are the worst. But on this day, when thousands of people demonstrate for a change in global policy, I will post my solidarity with a special Daily Painting. Be brave! 12 December 2009, 8:03 pm Little climate protection monument, watercolour, 17,5 x 17 cm
In radio they said the snow line is at 400 meters. With my house standing at the side of a hill at exactly 400 meters, this should mean it snows at one side of the house and rains on the other. And believe it or not, this is exactly what always happens. Daily Painting about the snow line 11 December 2009, 7:41 pm Snow line, watercolour, 17 x 21 cm
They say it will snow on Saturday. The winter starts! But wasn’t it yesterday when the leaves turned yellow and I sat in my garden talking to the anemones? Daily Painting about the autumn running faster than a lifetime. 10 December 2009, 7:25 pm Der 7 Meilenherbst, Aquarell, 29 x 21 cm
Today I decorated the house with ivy and collars and light. Not too avantgardistic I know, but I miss the green a little bit in these days. But all this will help to wait for the spring. Daily Painting about the spring stealing the green 30 November 2009, 7:52 pm Loving the green that stole the spring, watercolour with charcoal, 25 x 22,3 cm
Today I was on a Christmas Market nearby in the ruins of an old castle. It was cold, but the storm had set. And there were artists who offered their paintings to the people. But I thought to myself: I give away everyday my feelings to the whole world and that feels extremely good! Daily Painting on old towns 29 November 2009, 7:46 pm Town in the green countryside, watercolour and acryl, 15 x 22,5 cm
