Snow the whole day. Yesterday evening it was quiet and then I heard a little bird sing a protest song. Just for a moment but I joined in and said: Yes, enough winter, let’s have some springtime! But the next weeks will be cold though. Daily Painting about birds in the night

Today I prepared my trip to UK. All of you who are interested to see the Daily Paintings as an original work should consider traveling to Bristol on Saturday. I would be very happy to meet you there as an original person and I’ll try not to get out of the line. Daily Painting about framework

Today I received the dates for my classes at the academy. Lots of work waiting for me, but good work. I’m glad and adjusted the timetable of the last class I had so you get an idea what an art academy in a National Park looks like. Daily Painting about time

Deferred tides on the timetable, watercolour on plaster and timetable, 29,7 x 20,9 cm

In everybody is a little bit of art – at least I do hope so. And for the New Year I wish you lots of luck for the development of it. I add two Lucky Pigs, so hopefully they’ll get Lucky Piglets. Daily Painting about the influence of art.

The days between Christmas and New Year I hang around bloated with food and thoughts and watch one end-of-year-review after the other. And I think about what I could do better next year. Perhaps I should accept my weaknesses and make them my strength? Daily Painting about weakness

About the strength of the weak side, graphit on watercolour, 29 x 15,5 cm

In these days I often think about all these animals that end in our pots and ovens – the millions of geese, chickens, salmons. But when I watch how they live and how they die I loose my appetite. Daily Painting about chickens

Eifel Flood Disaster

The flood disaster on 14–15 July 2021 destroyed almost the entirety of Maf Räderscheidt’s life’s work when a flood wave from the Urft, approximately 3.50 high, surged through her studio on the Plan in Gemünd and swept thousands of paintings, watercolours, drawings, etchings and everything else towards Lake Urft. Consequently, almost every image posted before that date has, sadly, been destroyed and is no longer available. The few that were saved are completely ruined and contaminated by water, mud and the many unspeakable things that were washed down to Gemünd from thousands of garden sheds, cars, heating oil tanks and five sewage treatment works.
