Since Ai Weiwei was arrested, we are told, that the chinese understanding of freedom differs from ours and we have no idea of it. So it’s allright to arrest and suppress them? They don’t suffer? In my ears it sounds like the people who love tell me that it’s allright to slaughter masses of animals because they’re bred for it. Now Ai prompts us to fight for the freedom of Wang Lihong and Ran Yunfei, still detained in China. And my respect to Ai whose voice isn’t silenced. Daily Painting about china

Der Zynismus von einem anderen Freiheitsbegriff zu sprechen ist unerträglich. In China ist der Aspekt Individualität und auch das Verständnis dessen was Freiheit ist sicher anders als in Europa – willkürliche Verhaftungen gehören aber sicher nicht dazu.
Das Bild ist schön, es hat etwas meditatives, eine Antithese zum Geschriebenen.
