The news from Japan, the horrible, disastrous trinity from earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown, pulled the colour from my brush. I hope, that my feelings can be expressed in this ink drawing. Daily Painting about fruits

ich bin immer noch ein wenig “sprachlos” … Dein farbloses Bild vermittelt dieses nagende Gefühl der Fassungs- und Sprachlosigkeit

« Today my back hurts like hell because yesterday on the big walk I carried all the way an old etching as a tribute to Japan. It was „Sarahs Garden“ which caused a scandal back in the 70s, because it shows some details of the breeder technology that were kept as secrets and people couldn’t understand why this little woman knew things only the specialists should know. Daily Painting about breeders
In times when the world seems to tumble into an awful catastrophe it’s a good idea to set a little sign for a better future. Today I fixed the start of art workshops at a school for disabled children for this September. It feels good and I look forward to it. Daily Painting about worry dolls »

Eifel Flood Disaster

The flood disaster on 14–15 July 2021 destroyed almost the entirety of Maf Räderscheidt’s life’s work when a flood wave from the Urft, approximately 3.50 high, surged through her studio on the Plan in Gemünd and swept thousands of paintings, watercolours, drawings, etchings and everything else towards Lake Urft. Consequently, almost every image posted before that date has, sadly, been destroyed and is no longer available. The few that were saved are completely ruined and contaminated by water, mud and the many unspeakable things that were washed down to Gemünd from thousands of garden sheds, cars, heating oil tanks and five sewage treatment works.
